Event Details

WEATHER UPDATE: Due to the high winds please can we ask you to drive to the venue instead of walking through the woods. All other details remain the same.

Kendal Mountain Festival have joined forces with the National Trust to host two unique events at the beautiful Footprint building near Windermere. We invite you to join us in a beautiful setting and enjoy a collection of environmental-focussed films that have been carefully chosen by the team. The event will be hosted by one of our presenters who will guide you through the films and give you insights into the storytellers and wonderful characters they feature.

To add to the fun and encourage sustainable travel choices (and due to very limited parking at the venue) the ticket price includes a guided walk led by the knowledgeable National Trust team from Windermere Train Station to the venue.

Your guides will be at the bus stop at the front of the rail station from 6.20pm and the walk will leave at 6.30pm prompt. It will take around 20-25 minutes (it is a ¾ mile walk). Please wear appropriate footwear as we will be walking through the woods, and we recommend bringing a set of waterproofs with you as well.

We shall also walk back to Windermere station afterwards (expected finish time at Footprint is around 8.30pm, so we should be back in Windermere by 9pm). Please note it will be dark on our return journey so bring a torch/headtorch!

On arrival we shall congregate in the woods under our large canvas canopies and have a quick cuppa and a piece of cake (please bring some change if you feel you can make a donation towards this) before we head over to the Footprint to sit back, relax and enjoy some wonderful films.

Limited parking spaces are available at the venue on a first come first served basis and for those who have accessibility needs. To request a parking space please email footprint@nationaltrust.org.uk. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please car share where you can. The Footprint building itself is fully accessible and you will be welcomed by a member of the team on arrival.

Films will start just after 7pm and will finish no later than 8.30pm to allow us ample time to walk back to Windermere for 9pm.

Tickets are non-refundable within 48 hrs of the event.
