About the walk

Come and join komoot and Blaze Trails on a family walk from Kendal Mountain Festival. This is a community walk for all the family!

The walk takes you on a 2-2.5 mile loop around Serpentine Woods, which is a great route for all weathers. It's an ideal amble for catching a breath of fresh air between talks at the festival and a great way to meet other families. Don’t forget your wellies, as this can be a muddy route if it’s been rainy!

It is hilly in parts and up to 425 ft but have been told it is suitable for all ages. We will ensure to take lots of breaks and no one gets left behind! This route is not pushchair friendly due to the woodland terrain.

If you and your family have a suitable fitness level for the route and value connecting with other outdoor lovers, you’re invited to walk with us! Whether you bring the whole family or there’s just the 2 of you, all you need to join is a pair of suitable shoes and suitable kit for the weather conditions.

The walk will be led by a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader. Please remember you’re responsible for your own health and safety and that of your children. Komoot takes no responsibility for any injury or damage that occurs during our community walk. The route will be detailed nearer the time and a full disclaimer will be sent for signing prior to the event.

More about Blaze Trails

From one mum’s desire to get out walking with her new baby grew something special…. When Blaze Trails Founder Katy - an outdoors adventurist way before parenthood - couldn’t find a parent and baby walking group local to her, she set up her own. The baby hiking thing resonated with other parents and before long she was out exploring new places every week with a growing group of walking buddies. Other parents saw how much fun they were having and wanted to bring the hiking joy to their local areas - there are now new groups popping up all over the UK and our community is thousands of parents strong.
