Climbing is an expanding culture. Joining a variety of athletes and fun characters, we offer you a pick-and-mix of rock types – desert sandstone, hard-as-nails granite, limestone, gritstone and - yes - resin. With sore knees and sore knuckles, come and see a collection of films that celebrate connection - to oneself, to nature, and the special bond formed through sharing a rope. Grab your popcorn and get stuck in to watch the films that capture the heart and soul of Kendal Mountain Festival.

This year’s Climb Red collection includes:

Mum’s Gone Climbing - Navigating motherhood, babies and bold bits of rock, this is an inspiring film that highlights a community of climbers called Mum’s Gone Climbing. Sharing the fears, risks and struggles as they scale epic multi-pitch routes, join us for a film that celebrates the women who continually rediscover themselves through adventure.

Big Things To Come - The story of an elite boulderer’s struggle with a project propels her on a decade-long journey of self-discovery. In her battle with the formidable Swarm (V13), join Alex Johnson on her personal adventure to take off the weight-vest and come out of the closet.

The Last Forgotten Art - Is crack climbing the last forgotten art? From hand sized splitters, chicken wings to whole body wriggles, this film follows crack aficionados Mel, Vicky and Steve in their pursuit of slightly more unusual ‘off-width climbs’ found in the Peak District.

Queen Lines -  Entertaining and compelling, Anna Hazelnutt has only been trad climbing for 12 months. Under Tom Randall’s stewardship, they set themselves the challenge of a one-day ascent of the coveted Quarryman in North Wales and the first female repeat of the notorious Walk of Life at Dyers Lookout in Devon. Join us on this breathtaking and hilarious quest that blows the lid off the standard trad progression and takes us on the highs and lows of rock climbing.

Presented by Montane.

There are two Climb Film Collections, each with an entirely different selection of films - the Climb Red Collection and the Climb Blue Film Collection.
